Well, Happy (almost) New Year! So, what are your thoughts on resolutions?
How do you set yourself up throughout the year to achieve them?
Instead of resolutions, I like to think of this process each January with 3 words in mind:
1. INTENTION 2. REFLECTION 3. PROGRESS
When thinking about your INTENTION (rather than resolution), Consider what areas in your life you would ike to improve and/or change?
I like to REFLECT on these intentions with others who help hold me accountable. I also write them down. Did you know you have more opportunity to stick with something when you take the time to write it down? Then, I will check in throughout the year to see what I can mark off as accomplished. Also I have categories that help me navigate different areas of my life - Family & Spouse, Career & Livlihood, Personal Development (to name a few).
Often after setting these intentions, I need a mental reset several times a year. I can REFLECT back on the intentions set in January at the turn of the New Year, and see what PROGRESS is being made. OR, if I am at least going in the right direction to achieve my INTENTIONS I've set for the year.
REFLECT on the past years. What worked well for you? What didn't work at all?
This can be difficult, because sometimes we are forced to face things we keep avoiding, but knowing what your true INTENTIONS are, can help to open up the possibilities to get what you want and deserve this year!
In 2023, I challenge you to set your intentions Early, and write them down. Then, remind yourself of your intentions often as you move throughout the beginning months of the year. Look at what you wrote down weekly. . . And make an Action & Accountability plan to assure your Success by year end.
Remember Friends, PROGRESS over perfection! This little shift in thinking can be incredibly powerful.
